Richard Stroup has worked at Children's Mercy Hospital Kansas City for over twelve years. He has more than 35 years of industry experience, including 20 years in Silicon Valley high-technology firms. Under his direction, the Children's Mercy Heart Center Informatics Program is becoming a nationally recognized leader in clinical informatics and computer-based research and analysis. Richard holds two U.S. Patents associated with collecting, organizing, and presenting research-oriented medical information.
Prior to working at CMH, Richard held positions as Director of Data Warehousing at Applebee's International; Founder and President of ARC (a software development analytics firm); Director of Operations (manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering) at Wyse Technologies; Founder and Director of Engineering at Liberty Electronics; and Design Section Head at National Semiconductor Corp.
